I was excited to take on the request when one of my clients asked me to move his Bang & Olufsen installation from his old home to his beautiful new home in Constantia. Once I had told him that I had established my own company, he was excited to offer me the opportunity to carry out this work for him.
The brief was very simple and elegant. Most important was to meet the expectations from his wife; a clean installation where no cables were to be visible. Planning took place over two visits to the new home. During these visits inspections of conduits and ceiling cavities were carried out. Careful consideration needed to be made regarding occupation dates for the new home as well as movers schedules for the old home.
Included in the process of moving the equipment was to service the BeoVision 7 television. This included a clean at our service agent due to the build up of dust on the ventilation fans since its original installation over four years prior.
Installation requirements were to remove the BeoVision 7 40 Television (which is connected to Bose speakers) from the lounge and the BeoVision 8 32 from the study. These televisions were to be installed in the same configuration in the new home, including a MasterLink connection between them (This would allow video distribution from the BeoVision 7 to the BeoVision 8).
Audio distribution across the whole home is taken care of by a Sonos wireless system. This provides music for the lounge, braai area, dining room, study and patio. All these zones have discretely installed Bose FreeSpace speakers.
The installation was completed at the end of June 2013.
