Mirror Edge Networks is a Home Tech company, and as such, this installation is exactly what we are known for.
We were contacted by one of our clients to upgrade their home tech system for their Camps Bay residence. As this house of theirs is rented out while they are not in Cape Town, they asked us to bring the home tech up to date to ensure guests and clients renting the house have the best experience possible.
The upgrade of the home tech for this house started with the discussion of installing a robust home network and WiFi solution. Our immediate recommendation was to install an Araknis network with WiFi antennas so that we could remotely monitor and manage the network in case any clients required service on the WiFi. The Araknis network equipment has a cloud based interface called OVRC that allows us the ability to monitor and make changes from a laptop or a mobile phone anywhere in the world.
The Araknis network installation features a router, network switch and 1 WiFi antenna on each floor to ensure high speed WiFi across the whole house.
During our upgrade of the network and WiFi we carried out an upgrade to the television system too. This tv upgrade included new televisions for the lounge, master bedroom and basement.
New DSTV explora high definition decoders were installed and the LNB on the satellite dish was replaced to ensure longevity of the system. We installed an coax TV amplifier and TV-Link eye’s on all televisions and an HDMI over CAT6 balun for high definition DSTV in the basement.
As there were existing cables installed into this property when our client purchased it, the home tech upgrade was simple and quick to complete.
