We have been contacted to carry out a service call to address an issue with the Main Video Output of an Audio Video Receiver in a home theatre in Blouberg.
When we arrived onsite, this is the condition that this home theatre installation was left by the company that installed the Audio Video System.

We have advised the client that due to a power surge, the Main DSP module in his audio video receiver has been blown. To compliment the repair of the home theatre amplifier, we have offered to tidy up the installation of the equipment to make it easier to service in the future.

The equipment that has been installed in this home theatre is great and works well together, but due to the condition of the final installation, it took us just over an hour to correctly label all the cabling and clean the area that we are working in before we removed the home theatre AVR for its service.

The equipment includes:

  • Onkyo Audio Video Receiver
  • Samsung 50″ Plasma Screen TV
  • Speaker Craft Time in-ceiling speakers
  • Samsung BluRay DVD player

Once the home theatre AVR has been serviced, we will head through and take some photos of the reinstallation of the Audio Video equipment.

Onkyo home theatre AVR’s are dynamic amplifiers that allow enough power for most home theatre setups. They allow for connection of multiple HDMI video inputs. In this installation that is limited to the Samsung BluRay player and the clients DSTV decoder. Additional HDMI video sources that could be installed into this home theatre could be Apple TV’s or a standard media player.
Laptops and computers that have home videos could also be connected to this home theatre.

If you would like to know more about this home theatre installation, get in contact with us. We would be happy to discuss this with you in more detail.
