High quality Audio Video content is becoming readily available online. This is great for our entertainment, but how does our internet bandwidth restrict us from viewing this content?
I have recently posted about the 5 Benefits of Fibre Broadband in Clifton. We are currently able to offer high speed broadband internet as well as DSTV over IP. This means that residents of Clifton are finally able to access High Definition DSTV. Something previously unavailable.
We have just completed our first full house High Definition Video Distribution system.
This system includes equipment from various great companies that we are proud to work with.
The total installation included the following new items provided by us:
HDMI Video Matrix (switching 8 inputs to 7 outputs) from CYP
Crestron CP3 Controller
2 Crestron MLX-3 Remote Controls (3 iPads with Crestron App)
3 Samsung Ultra High Definition televisions
1 Integra Audio Video Receiver
2 ArtCoustic LCR’s, 1 ArtCoustic Spitfire Subwoofer
1.4km of CAT6 Cable
Infrastructure rack, including:
Draytek Router,
Ethernet Controlled Power Distribution Units by Lindy
2 48 Port Network Switches (1 Power over Ethernet)
MacMini Server,
XBMC Media Players connected to 16TB Drobo Media Storage.
2 AppleTV’s,
2 DSTV Explora Decoders, 1 High Definition DSTV Decoder
DVR relocation & Integration.
Close to 300 hours of installation, programming and calibration work.
More information about this installation and will be posted once we have had an opportunity to visit the client and take photos of the completed installation.
Please feel free to contact us if you would like to discuss this type of video distribution system for your own use.
In this post we will show you what existing cabling we had to deal with and what the process of installing all the new cabling was.
We have recently completed our first full house High Definition video distribution system installation. This was our first opportunity to implement a High Definition Video Distribution system, which is all controlled via Crestron.
Due to the complexity of this type of installation, we installed all the required equipment into a Systems Rack.
