On 10 July 2020, we returned to a whole-home AV installation to add dedicated backup power for its network and Wi-Fi equipment. The aim was to keep the equipment used for working from home running through local power interruptions.

One of our clients recently renovated his Clifton bungalow. He asked if we could please ensure that all televisions were installed correctly in the newly renovated bungalow, as well as install a new network system with wifi access points.
This Camps Bay room began as a planned music room and became a dedicated Dolby Atmos home cinema. This original build diary shows the room taking shape—from layout and acoustic measurements to the equipment rack, projection screen and final calibration.
The design was developed in association with Christiaan Beukes of Sphere Custom Design, who prepared and vetted the room drawings. Morgan Irwin participated in the design discussions, and Mirror Edge Networks staff carried out the on-site room construction and AV installation. Christiaan also contributed to the commissioning process described below.
